I recently had the opportunity of walking a wild, urban labyrinth. It’s located between two buildings in Los Angeles and is essentially a community garden, with various vegetables and herbs springing up along the way… and a gorgeous olive tree at its center.
I walked it with a dozen other people, fascinated by the calm that so naturally came over each of us upon entering this small area of ground.
The invitation of a labyrinth: look down, walk slowly, follow the path, quiet the mouth, quiet the mind, journey inward, and trust that your feet will eventually reach the center. What an invitation! (No cell phones allowed!)
There are thousands of labyrinths around the world waiting for more people to journey along their ponder paths. Is there one that’s inviting you?
