Identities change throughout our lives. They can happen quickly or over a long period of time:
She was a student and now she’s a teacher.
She was an employee and now she’s a boss.
She was a child and now she’s a woman.
She was married and now she’s single.
The identity changes on the inside, the shifts in self-perception, can be disorienting. It’s not always easy to shed the old identities and adjust to the new ones. This butterfly may need to occasionally remind herself that she’s not a caterpillar anymore.
Are any of your old identities still hanging around inside?
