Since moving to California a few years ago, my entire home has been on ground level and, when I’m at home, I am almost always barefoot.
After years of living in apartments and walking the “urban jungle” that is NYC, I am quite appreciative of the easy access my feet have to the Earth, whether they are standing on grass, sand, or dirt. I even walk barefoot on hiking trails sometimes.
Apparently, standing barefoot on the Earth for just ten minutes a day is incredibly nourishing for the human body and mind. There are many studies about the positive impacts of “earthing”. It makes perfect sense that direct contact with our home planet would be instrumental to our well-being. What’s bizarre is how infrequently most of us do that in our modern, paved, busy world.
When was the last time your feet touched the Earth?
