“Some things just can’t be described. And stepping onto the moon was one of them.”
– Buzz Aldrin
When we have extraordinary experiences (or, rather, not-at-all-ordinary experiences), we often want to share them, to have them be witnessed in some way. Whether that’s calling a brother late at night or writing an epic facebook post or sharing the story with a friendly taxi driver.
But not all experiences can be explained well or truly understood by someone else. Those experiences, I decide, are just for me. I choose to hold them, rather than describe them. In our contemporary culture, when over-sharing is an epidemic, I cherish those precious, private, sometimes profound, moments.
You, too?
